Vintage Vernon Kilns Don Blanding Design "Lei Lani" 12-1/2" Chop Plate

Description

Offered for sale is this very large 12-1/2" diameter chop plate created by artist Don Blanding as part of the Lei Lani collection commissioned by Vernon Kilns of California and manufactured between 1939 and 1942.  It features a bold design of tropical flowers in shades of pink, blue and white with accents of yellow and green.  The piece has an abstract floral border in white and maroon.  It is in excellent pre-owned condition without chips, cracks or hairlines.
If you are lucky enough to own this pattern, it's always nice to pick up a spare piece since Vernon Kilns closed its doors in 1958 and these are no longer available on the retail market.  If you don't have the whole collection, this would incorporate well with any contemporary set in one of the colors used in Lei Lani.
