    Description

    This is a hand carved, not molded, cameo.  Made from shell, probably carved in Italy and  put in a setting somewhere else.  There is a company logo on the back that looks like 'CC' but it is not clear.  It also has the gold filled purity marks.  The pendant bail folds down so it doesn't show when worn as a pin.  It is probably from the 1950s to early 1960s.  It is a left facing cameo.  If you have ever wondered why the left facing cameos are rare, it's because the carvers use their dominate hand to carve the face, then turn it upside down to care the curls.  This one has a corsage, earrings, and a headpiece of some sort above the front curls.
