    Some history: My father opened a jewelry store in 1932, the height of the Great Depression. People needed money for food, rent, the necessities of life. My father would buy their jewelry, remove the stones, and sell the gold to the federal government. He needed to sell the gold because he didn't have enough money to continue buying jewelry from the public. There was no where to sell the stones because very little jewelry was being manufactured during these bad times, so he would just place them in a cigar box. I inherited them about 10 years ago. I'm 75 years old and it's time to sell them.
