    A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE ARTIST GERTRUDE A. KAY:
    She received her education at the Philadelphia School of Design for Women. She was a student for 3 years with Howard Pyle.
    Gertrude was an artist. She is the author & illustrator of several children's books. She has illustrated for the Ladies Home Journal, Outlook, Good Housekeeping, St. Nicholas, Youth's Companion, Women's Home Companion, Pictorial Review & other publications.
    Gertrude belonged to the Association of Women Painters and Sculptors of New York, Authors' League of America, Plastic Club of Philadelphia.
