    First introduced in 1993, this specialty tag option was available to those veterans who had been awarded The Purple Heart.  Several other varieties were also made available, including the Pearl Harbor Survivor plate and the Flag plate.
    This set of tags does not have a month of expiration in the top left corner and has no registration stickers so I believe they were issued sometime around 1997-1998.  They are clean and they do not appear to have been used or even mounted.
