BACKGROUND
:   This Coupe Deville has a very odd story.
In 1975 it was parked in a garage in Chicago, never to see daylight again until 2017 -- 42 YEARS LATER!
The engine was seized from non-use, but the 2017 buyer didn't care.
The car's body and interior was super solid still after all of those years.
His plan was to customize (bag) the car.  So the front end panels were removed and the entire front suspension & engine cradle frame was cut off this very low mileage (45K) car.  The bodywork was all started at this time too, as you can see it's had prep work done.  Well, the owner then lost interest and could not ($$) finish the car, so it sat halfway done for 2 years in a heated shop before I acquired it (2019).  With the front frame being cut off, it's not worth re-assembling - so this is a PREMIUM body shell that you can make into a great custom...bag it....whatever your creative juices allow~.
CONDITION
:  The car (as of now) has been stored indoors for 46 years straight.
Talk about lack of use and lack of damage from the environment!  The body had been sanded and prepped for painting, but then the owner could not complete the project.   Aside from just a little bit of rust on the passenger rear wheel area, the body is extremely good for being 53 years old.  Great trunk pan and quarters.
WHAT IS INCLUDED?
This is a gutted and empty body SHELL - and includes the excellent windshield & rear window, the rear axle (no driveshaft), and most of the original frame (front engine cradle removed, as mentioned before).  Original Vinyl roof is quite nice too.
No trim is included, no wiring, no doors, no trunk lid, no engine/transmission, etc...it's completely empty inside now.
The doors are available (great shape) separately, if desired (extra cost).   The floor pan was cut in the center where a future driveshaft was going to be installed.  See pics.   The trunk has a bracket for an alternate fuel source.   The firewall has been half covered over (Custom engine compartment).   Aside from those things, the rest of the body shell is untouched and original.  I have welded 2 heavy duty wheels to the front frame, so that it can be rolled onto a trailer and around a shop.  The original 1971 Illinois title is also included (Purchased used in September of 1971).   I think it's worthy of a custom situation, but if you have a 1968 (maybe 1967) Coupe Deville with a bad body, it would be a great full bodyshell or panel donor.
NOTE AGAIN:
Some of the pics were taken while the glass and some interior pieces were still in the car....they have all been removed except for the windshield and rear window....they are not included.
