Description

This is a beautiful collection of 18 Vernon Kilns Casa California dishes by Gale Turnbull from the mid-late 1930's. Each piece is hand painted in a brown and yellow floral pattern. They are gorgeous! Here's the lineup:
Pics 1/2 - all 18 pieces
Pics 3/4 - creamer and sugar bowl with lid. The sugar bowl measures approximately 4-1/4" tall with the lid, 2-7/8" without, 3-3/4" in diameter across the middle. It has no obvious cracks, chips, crazing, nicks, scratches or repairs.
The creamer measures approximately 3" tall, 5-3/8" in diameter from spout to handle. It has no chips, crazing, nicks, scratches or repairs. There is a 3/4" hairline crack on the side and a hairline crack on the strainer piece near the spout. There is some discoloration around that crack.
Pics 5/6/7 - (3 each) coffee cups and saucers. The cups measure approximately 3-7/8" in diameter, 2-1/8" tall. One of them has no obvious cracks, chips, crazing, nicks, scratches, stir marks or repairs. One has a small chip on the bottom rim, one has a V-shaped hairline crack on the rim, but otherwise no issues.
The saucers measure approximately 6-1/4" in diameter. There are no obvious cracks, chips, crazing, nicks, scratches or repairs. There are some light utensil marks, nothing too distracting.
Pics 8/9 - (2) lugged cereal bowls measuring approximately 6" in diameter, 7-3/8" across the handles, 2" tall. There are no obvious cracks, chips, crazing, nicks, scratches or repairs. There are some light utensil marks, nothing too distracting.
Pics 10/11 (7) fruit/dessert bowls measuring approximately 5-1/2" in diameter, 1-1/4" tall. There are no obvious cracks, chips, crazing, nicks, scratches or repairs. There are some light utensil marks, nothing too distracting. One of the bowls has some discoloration under the rim.
This is a very well-preserved collection of rare pottery.
